Hi there.
this is probably the wrong place to post this feedback, but I would like to suggest a change to the notes on how to get java 1,6 running on a mac, just to help out the not so able people like me in setting up the server and getting Java 1.6 running on a mac osx 10.5 machine. for some silly reason it took me the whole day to get Java 1.6 running on my machine. i tried using the terminal as suggested, but could not get it to work and then finally i worked out that i could just change the Java Preferences app, in the Applications/Utilities. once i changed the order to Java SE 6 to the top, it all worked. anyway you guys are doing a great job and union is fantastic. cheers sean

- Subject changed from If Java version cannot run the server then shutdown and log message. to Log Java version/vendor at startup.
- Status changed from New to Closed
- Target version changed from Union Server 1.0 Beta 2 to Union Server 1.0 Beta 1
The Java version is too coarse a variable to try and determine compatibility (eg. scripting may or may not work with different 1.6 vendors). Changed to simply logging the version so the log file will contain the information for debugging.
Thanks for the feedback Sean. I have created a doc ticket (http://factory.user1.net/issues/show/375) to change the upgrade instructions if the process has become smoother since we first wrote them up.
